The Intersection of Content Strategy & Information Architecture: Storytelling from both perspectives

Going to talk about 3 roles: content strategist, management information architect, and delivery information architect.

Content strategist is content owner. 2 different roles for information architect is intentional.

The elements of user experience can be divided into the word and the experience.

Content strategy layer sets the goals, the targets, the scope and strategy. Goals can be broad. The scope depends on resources and set specific requirements.

Management IA looks at structure, which includes content modeling and metadata. What's important is how we store the it, the unit of storage. The key to delivery is flexible management.

Delivery IA could be different from delivery IA, where things become more in focus. We know how content as authored is structure, now need to look at delivery channel structure.

Management IA doesn't know what to build without enough specific information from the content strategist.

Building a team isn't about building empires. Empires don't meet user needs.

What we wish we knew when we were younger. Words matter--until they don't. Lorem ipsum is fine, but the real content must be in place in designs. Every business is inefficient. Soft skills are skills too. The technology you love will break your heart. Luck will play a role. Questions are more collaborative than statements.
